As we head into the home stretch in preperation to release a new product with Miss Priss Tutus, we are fine tuning a few things. One is our press release that captures thoughts from our valued clients. This is from one of the first moms to receive a Binkeez blanket for her daughter. Alexa is now 9 and this brought a smile to us as we remembered part of this story but to learn that her Binkeez still lives on.

From one of our very first Binkeez recipients who is also a really cool and amazing lady, wife and mom - Michelle F of Boston, MA

Our daughter, Alexa, received her Binkeez blankie when she was born on July 3, 2001. Since then she has slept with the well loved Binkeez blankie every night.

When she was 3 we thought she lost the blanket. We back tracked the whole day, even to the point of looking in the trash at McDonald's. Needless to say we found it at home the next day inside the trunk of a toy car. There were a lot of tears when she thought she lost it. We even called Susan at home to see if they still had the same fabric to make a new one and overnight in the event the original Binkeez was truly lost.

Alexa is now 9 1/2 years old and still sleeps with what is left of the blankie as I saved a piece for when she is much older to give to her.

...it only seems "fitting" that our first post of 2011 is to announce our collaboration and partnership with an amazing company in the Atlanta, Georgia area - Miss Priss Tutus.

We are just fine tuning a few but important details before we can share what we have been working so hard on.

We were beyond touched when we received pictures of Baby D from his many months in the NICU with his Binkeez blanket. His mom let us know his Binkeez was always with him in the NICU. (Baby D's mom is a very special person to both my mom and I)

Where Have We Been?

When Susan is not in the studio she spends alot of her time making sure she gives forward. She believes that if you have been given the gift of good health, you then need to pay that forward. Since March of 2010 she, along with her triathlon team has participated in a major event (triathlons, full marathons, 1/2 marathons, 5 k's, extreme races, etc) to raise money for the Tara Bean Foundation.

While she is feeling her age, she would not trade the sweat, aches, pains and even tears for anything in the world. She is about to wrap up her season by pulling a FedEx Jet along with Tara's mom and aunt.

The beauty of life is we can all contribute in our own ways to make a difference. Here is a picture of all her race digits. When ever she comes into studio, she is able to reflect on many things and know in her heart how she contributed to make a difference.

Each Binkeez blanket that has custom embroidery added to it takes about 20 minutes. While the embroidery machine does its magic, well Susan and her furry friends watch good movies.

Furry Friends Off to a Special Home...

We research all our ingredients before incorporating into our Babeez Cakes. Sometimes when new Furry Friends are added to our inventory - well they are super cute but just don't always play well with the other furry friends (ie they don't go with our fabrics and other ingredients.)

So we are sending off a batch of these furry friends to an orphanage where we know they will get plenty of love and hugs.

It truly has been amazing the people we meet along the way of our Binkeez for Comfort Program. In July 2010 we gifted two Babeez Cakes for the Tee-Up-For-Tots Annual Fundraiser for the NICU at UMASS Memorial.

This one is very personal and heart tugging for Sue and Lynne. A very special pair of Binkeez is headed straight to the NICU to help comfort Baby D while he gets stronger and stronger and keeps putting on those pounds.

This is for Baby A that arrived on July 12th. Baby A's mom is on Sue's triathlon team and is one amazing lady, professional, wife and mom. So as you can see, this furry friend was inspecting VERY closely.

Someday Baby A will learn there was a team of 10 women that we all cheering for a baby girl to arrive!!!!!

...how can it be that the word vintage and Bel Scriba are used in the same sentance? Sigh. While we are super stoked about our new fabrics, we are a little sad to see the last of our beginner fabrics leave the studio. For some reason, this giraffe and matching fabrics just stuck to us.

While these Binkeez and Burpeez are going to a great home awaiting the arrival of Baby V, we are happy that we still have enough fabric to last a little while longer. It is wrong that Mr. Giraffe looks a little too happy?

Sue's running mentor sent her a special VIP Babeez Cake Request today. While D is awaiting the birth of Baby V to send the ultimate Babeez Cake, she wanted to send to her dearest friend Lisa a little sampling. So we whipped up a Bundt Size Beary Cake for the mom to be.

....we are bursting out of our seams with excitement (and emotion) after seeing a sneak peak of photos from our photo shoot with Heidi of Heidi Hope Photography.

It was an exciting, nerve-wracking and exhausting day. My mom and I will never look at the studio the same way again - was wild that the entire photo shoot was done right in our studio.

We also need to thank Keila and Erin for all their behind the scenes production assistance. And Heidi....who is just amazing to work with (and ALOT of fun.)

Having Heidi capture "our baby" on film was the highlight but the spotlight of the day was on Baby Delaney who stole all our hearts. (Delaney is the newborn daughter of Sue's life long friend Erin.) We kid you not, as soon as Delaney's mom swaddled her in one of our Binkeez she fell right to sleep for all her photos and then stayed asleep for hours. You want a sleepin babe, our Binkeez are just what you need!

...while every order is custom made (with alot of TLC) the orders for our family and friends always mean ALOT to us since they have always supported our dream.

There were a few other persons that were an intergral part of our dream and one of those was our artistic director, Brad. (Truly one of the most talented artists.) He brought our dream to life...literally. Yes, he is the one that made the cartoons of my mom and I and also of my triathlon training teams.
